February Artist Reception: Michelle McElroy
February 19, 2026 @ 6:00 PM
Michelle is a New England native whose artistic voice was honed studying painting in Chicago. Their work explores the gentle melancholia and quiet beauty found in everyday observations, a sensibility they developed through the study of masters like Edward Hopper and Horace Pippin. Working primarily in oils, Michelle seeks to translate intimate, quiet moments—a specific quality of light in New Hampshire, the solitude of a midnight snack, or reflections from an early morning jog—into visual narratives. The occasional inclusion of vintage products from the ’70s and ’80s serves as an anchor of nostalgia, inviting the viewer into a shared, reflective space.
